On February 27, 2025, ideSHi organized an awareness program at Muslin Cotton Mills High School in Gazipur District on HPV infection, vaccination, and cervical cancer prevention. Cervical cancer is preventable, yet awareness remains low. Knowledge and early intervention are key to ensuring a healthier future.
The Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) soon introducing routine immunization program for HPV vaccines for Class 5 students and 10-year-old girls, but vaccine hesitancy remains a challenge. To address this, ideSHi is actively conducting school-based awareness sessions and engaging with local communities to dispel myths and encourage vaccine acceptance.
Md. Al Mamun Talukder, DEO, Gajipur, Md. Abdul Motin, Assistant Inspector, District Education Office, Gazipur, Mrs. Noor-e-Zannat, Upazila Secondary Education Officer, Mrs. Zinat Rehena Shirmin, Upazila Academic Supervisor, and Mr. Tapas Kumar Das, Headmaster of the school, were also present to encourage students to be ready for vaccination.
