ideSHi successfully conducted an Advocacy Program on HPV Awareness and Vaccination at Noakhali Sadar Upazila, engaging with 198 primary school Headteachers from across the upazila. The event was graced by the presence of the Upazila Primary Education Officers (UPEO), Assistant Upazila Primary Education Officers, and the Assistant District Primary Education Officer, highlighting the commitment of the local education administration to safeguarding students’ health.
Eminent public health experts and leaders shared valuable insights during the session: Dr. Md. Tajul Islam A. Bari, Former Program Manager, EPI, Dr. Firdausi Qadri, Lead, ideSHi & renowned scientist, Dr. Md. Rofiqur Rahman, Chief Operating Officer, ideSHi. Together, they elaborated on the importance of the HPV vaccine in preventing cervical cancer and emphasized the urgent need for awareness and vaccination among young girls (Students of Class 5 and 10-years old girls from community). The speakers also addressed misconceptions and clarified scientific facts, to ensure the success of the HPV vaccination routine immunization program in Bangladesh.
This initiative marks another step forward in our mission to protect future generations from preventable diseases through science, awareness, and action.
