Mst. Noorjahan Begum is currently working as a PhD research student at the Institute for Developing Science and Health Initiatives (ideSHi). She is conducting her PhD on “Hypothyroidism in pregnant women and children: Screening and genetic spectrum analysis of hypothyroidism in hospital care settings in Bangladesh”. She has completed her B.Sc (Honors) in 2008 and MS in 2009 from the Dept. of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Dhaka. She conducted her MS thesis work at Plant Biotechnology Laboratory, University of Dhaka. She worked there with molecular markers associated with salt tolerant rice. Noorjahan worked as a Senior Research Officer at Virology Laboratory, International Centre for Diarrheal Disease Research, Bangladesh (icddr,b) from May 2009 to August 2016. She was involved in different projects related to Respiratory viruses, enteric viruses and other respiratory pathogens. Her research interest includes Inborn Errors of Metabolism (IEM), Molecular Genetics, Bioinformatics, Virology, Immunology, and Infectious Diseases.
