Former Doctoral Fellow
Ms. Mahfuza Sahrin is a molecular biologist with seven years of research experience in the field of infectious diseases. After obtaining her BS and MS in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, she joined at International Center for Diarrheal Disease Research, Bangladesh (icddr,b) and gained efficacious research experience on tuberculosis epidemiology.
The academic and professional experiences of Sahrin have enabled her to develop technical skills in the field of molecular biology, microbiology, immunology, and project management. She won Sida (The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency) research grant on the enhancing diagnosis of extrapulmonary tuberculosis and for establishing a follow-up tool for monitoring of extrapulmonary tuberculosis through a noninvasive procedure. Currently, Sahrin has focused on the noninvasive testing procedures for the diagnosis of genetic disorders as her Ph.D. work at Institute for developing Science and Health initiatives (ideSHi).
