Golam Sarower Bhuyan started his journey with ideSHi in 2014 as a Research Officer and later served as a Senior Research Officer. He played major roles in the National Thalassemia Carrier Screening Programme, respiratory disease research among FDMN communities, typhoid investigations, and antimicrobial-resistance surveillance studies. His work involved research coordination, laboratory investigations, data interpretation, scientific reporting, and team supervision. He also contributed to more than 20 international peer-reviewed publications and trained students, physicians, and laboratory staff.

In 2020, he left ideSHi to pursue a PhD in Medicine at the University of New South Wales, Australia, based at the Lowy Cancer Research Centre. His ideSHi experience established a strong foundation in molecular biology, infectious-disease research, scientific communication, and research leadership.
