Dr. Umme Kulsum is a Medical Officer at institute for developing Science and Health initiatives (ideSHi). She joined ideSHi in May 2021. She completed her MBBS from Popular Medical College and Hospital, Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2019. She started her career as a surgeon in Central Hospital Ltd, Dhaka. She is currently doing an MPH in Epidemiology from State University of Bangladesh.

At ideSHi, Dr. Umme Kulsum is actively involved in several research projects, which include pharmacokinetics and safety study of Adalimumab (ongoing), Inborn Errors of Metabolism, Covid-19 vaccine response and Tuberculosis in adults and children, evaluation of Rapid Antigen Test kit for Covid-19 etc. Her research interest lies in Epidemiology, risk factors and prevention of communicable as well as non-communicable diseases. She is also a dedicated physician for the ideSHi staff clinic. Her hobbies include reading books, travelling and photography.
